Recently there has been new announcement about new 5xxx aluminium alloy that is intended for anodizing applications. The key point about this aluminium alloy is that it is accepting anodization. Anodization is a type of classical electrochemical conversion that consist of an electric field-driven metal and oxygen ion diffusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this article, we will see the important properties & applications for non-heat-treatable 5xxx series of aluminum alloys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FYI, this announcement has been done by Russian aluminium giant UC Rusal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Important Properties of New 5xxx Aluminium Alloy:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. It allows to reduce delivery times to the consumers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. The product is reducing the cost of the final product.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. These alloys are having the highest strength of the non-heat treatable alloys.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. These aluminum alloys<\/a> are widely used for shipbuilding, transportation, pressure vessels, bridges and buildings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. These alloys allow for high strengthening, excellent corrosion resistance, low densities and good formability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. These are wrought aluminum alloys are non-heat treatable and are strain hardenable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. These alloys are easily & readily weldable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Normally, magnesium base materials are welded with 5xxx filler alloys.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    New 5xxx Aluminium Alloy Applications:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    1. These alloys are used in boats<\/strong>, that help in ease of fabrication. Mainly used for boat hull or other equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Many passenger vessel<\/strong> uses this 5xxx series of alloys, that ranges from 1000 to 2000 tons per ship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
