You must be aware that heat-resistant aluminium alloy is widely used for electrical purpose. It is having high resistance & conductivity that is a measure of electrical conduction. Below table will help you understand the aluminium alloy contents,
Content | Percentage |
Weight of zirconium | 0.28% to 0.80% |
Weight of manganese | 0.10% to 0.80% |
Weight of copper | 0.10% to 0.40% |
Weight of silicon | 0.16% to 0.30% |
A conductive wire can be formed by preparing or twisting the wires that are consisting of this aluminium alloy.
In the recent time, Russian researcher have developed new process of producing aluminium alloys that are more durable & are more comparable alloys. The study says that these alloys having high potential of replacing heavy copper conductors in the aircraft industry.
Properties of newly developed aluminium alloys:
- 10 mm billet using an electromagnetic crystalliser
- thermal stability up to 4000°C, which is sixteen times higher than conventional aluminium alloys
- The newly developed process simplifies complicated production of such aluminium alloys.
- Thermal-stability is achieved through nanoparticles by joining copper, manganese, and zirconium with elemental aluminium.
