Recently there has been new announcement about new 5xxx aluminium alloy that is intended for anodizing applications. The key point about this aluminium alloy is that it is accepting anodization. Anodization is a type of classical electrochemical conversion that consist of an electric field-driven metal and oxygen ion diffusion.
In this article, we will see the important properties & applications for non-heat-treatable 5xxx series of aluminum alloys.

Important Properties of New 5xxx Aluminium Alloy:

- Many passenger vessel uses this 5xxx series of alloys, that ranges from 1000 to 2000 tons per ship.
- These alloys are having high weight saving ability, that’s why widely used in ship to maintain stability.
- Beyond these applications, 5xxx aluminium alloy can be used in variety of equipment including doors, windows, gratings, lockers, bunks, etc.
